About this site

The Sandostatin® International Site is an international Website for Sandostatin® LAR® (octreotide/IM injection), from Novartis, and is intended for healthcare professionals outside the United States. The information on this site is not country-specific and may contain information that is outside the approved indications where you practice. Please contact your local Novartis Oncology representative for the latest product information specific to your country.

Site organisation

The Site is organised as follows:

  • Site Sections, in the left-hand menu bar, link to indicated areas of information and resources in the site, such as About Sandostatin® LAR®.
  • Subsections under each Site Section, in the left-hand menu bar, link to specific topic or resource areas within each section. In About Sandostatin® LAR®, for instance, there are four subsections: Basic Information, Administering, Our History, and Novartis Core Summary.
  • Global Navigation, in the top menu bars, link to related sites (e.g., Novartis.com).
  • Featurette Boxes on the right side of the Home Page (e.g., "What’s New," "Recently Published Data") provide short news information related to Sandostatin®, and often link to additional content on the given subject.

Using PDFs

PDFs (Portable Document Format files) are used in the Sandostatin® International Site (e.g., in the Resource Links section). PDFs are file formats that allow the user to view and print material with the same design and formatting as the original print document.

You will need Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® software, available free from Adobe, to read and print PDFs. If you click on one of the links in a section that provides PDFs (e.g., Acromegaly patient education material (PDF)), and do not see the indicated PDF material, you do not have the Reader® and will need to download it free from the Adobe site. Please follow the instructions on the Adobe site for your particular computer configuration.

Printing pages

Certain pages in this site (e.g., the GEP NE Tumour Educational Material in the Resources/Links section) might be useful to print. We recommend that you print in landscape format, rather than portrait; you can select this in either your Print or your Page Setup dialogue. The backgrounds will not fully print from these Web pages.
